A Gentleman's Dignity

It has been a long, long time since I enjoyed a Korean drama. Out of the blue, I thought of watching this drama. And I'm so glad that I made the right choice. =)

Even though this drama portrayed some sex scenes( aihh......), but I love the overall theme of love, friendship and family shown through this drama.

This drama gets my vote for the best Korean drama I have watched this year, and perhaps thus far.
Even though the main actors are in their forties ( ahjussi) , but they have such charisma and charm.

Why is it so different for us females ???

One of the main actor is Jang Dong Gun. He is really a black beauty. And his eyes, seriously..... I literally faint each time he looked at the actress and the screen ..... T.T

He plays Kim Do Jin, a playboy architect who falls for Seo Yi Soo, an Ethics teacher. Ha !

Next is Kim Ha Neul. Honestly, she is not a super beauty, but there is a certain poise and pleasantness in her. She looks good without heavy makeup.

To make it simple, it's about the lives of 4 " gentlemen" in their early forties, who struggle their way to find a balance in their career, family, love and friendship.

On personal note,  I think this drama depicts love in a realistic manner. I mean, of course they have their lovey- dovey scenes... But , this drama made me think and digest and discover about relationships and all.

1. Responsibility.

Before Do Jin fell in love with Yi Soo, he was a first class playboy. A string of lovers. Oh my, I don't know how to sum it all. Imagine his reaction when he found out he has a son, a 19 year old son! And the mother of his son ? His first love when he was 22.  But thankfully he  took up the responsibility after knowing the truth. However , it was not without drama and loads of tears. This truth nearly ruin his relationship with Yi Soo! He had to push her away because it would be a burden to her, and  to their relationship.

Seriously, it is my firm belief that sex is for married couples alone. Period.

2. Friendship

The four guys have been friends since they were 17 /18. They know each other so well , and they have been through ups and downs in life together. They give lousy advices to each other regarding relationships, and they sometimes teased one another . But when the tide is high, when something arises, they will always be there for each other no matter what. Awwwwww......

That's what friends for , through good times and bad times, I'll be by your side ....

3. Family.

Watching Im Tae Sam going all over- protective over his baby sister, Meahri is making me a little envious. He has his valid reasons though. She is in love with one of his best friend, Yoon. Yoon is a widower, and he is 17 years senior than Meahri. Wow ! But , they love each other, so.... that's okay
;)

Is age just a number ??? Hhmmmmm

BTW, this drama has one of the most amazing OST of all time !!! I feel like crying when I listen to them now. Aigooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........................

4. Trust

One of the important element of a relationship is trust. A husband and wife relationship played by Rok and Min Sook definitely made me think twice before entering marriage. It was so heart breaking when Min Sook wanted a divorce because she can't trust her husband anymore even if he has changed his lifestyle. Of course, they reconciled in the end, but it was not a bed of roses. Drama after drama!

All in all, I think I have invested well in this Korean adventure ! Definitely made me wanna learn Korean more! Hopefully I can find my oppa soon !! Ha ;)

Cheers ! Blessed New Year 2014 !

Big Bad Wolf 2013 !!!!!

Yes !!!! I went !!!! Well, not alone though.
I had a faithful and truly patient partner - Xiao Mei - Tiffany ~~

We promised to meet at the KTM station at 8.30. And before she arrived, I talked to two of my school mates who happened to go there as well. A few minutes later, she arrived, and we then purchased the ticket. RM 10 each for a to and fro  trip. Reasonable , eh ? ;)

Anyway, this is NO ORDINARY TRIP ! It's the very FIRST TIME I have ever board a train without any ADULT ( aka parents ) supervision. Well, I don't exactly feel awesomely PROUD about it, but still, this is a real sense of accomplishment. I felt as if I am an ADULT .

Yeah, you can take that as being OLD ~~~

We headed to the Mines Shopping Mall based on the directions that I have got from a reliable blog. And, after rounds of searching high and low, and well " enjoying " the whole adventure , we MADE IT !!! =)
We also made it to the MIECC hall, which was linked by a bridge from the shopping mall.

My lovely xiao mei, and faithful companion for the day.

The usual plain old, nerdy me =)

Since she got herself a new Samsung smartphone, I figured we should make good use of it by taking pictures !! =)

We made it !!!!! =)

And of course, we need to justify our statement and PRESENCE !! =)

HAPPY AND BLESSED US <3

Let me get things straight. Getting there is a walking task. But seriously being there, is a WALKING JOB !!! You just gotta walk , walk and walk in order to find your books !!!  But, at least we managed to get some books, and we spent less than RM 30 on 4 books !!

FANCY THAT !!! =)

Here's what I bought !! =)

1. The Hobbit !!!! ( Yes, everyone is going Hobbit crazy nowadays!! )

I want to watch the movie too !! =)

2. Emma  ( I got what I wanted, an unabridged version  ! )

3. The Hound of Baskervilles !!!
( Yes, more Sherlock Holmes and John Watson ! More adventure~)

Last but not the least, a classic by Charles Dickens

4. A Tale of Two Cities
( Can't wait to read it all over again !!! )

I could have bought more books, but I simply do not want to take the risk here when the budget is constraint. Most of the modern romance books are simply OVER THE TOP AND YES, DISGUSTING...

And, a final picture to sum up the whole trip !

The victory picture when we safely arrived Seremban. =)

Oh yeah , I forgot. The famous Kajang sate that xiao mei's grandparents bought. I didn't eat it today. Perhaps someday we'll eat it. =)

Yum Yum ~~

Thank you xiao mei Tiffany Tham for making my day today !!
Thank God everything went on just fine! =)

Frozen + Sam's b'day + Mini gathering

This has gotta be the  one of the major highlights of my life after STPM!

A day after I completed my STPM ! 3rd of December 2013!

A few of us have planned this event beforehand. We wanted to give the birthday boy a surprise. Well, it's not really a BIG surprise , considering the fact that we let him know some of the details and all. But still, it's still a surprise right ? ;)

And so, got up quite early in the morning and went to Jusco. We started off with karaoke session. And my oh my, how I enjoyed this session. All these years, I have been a professional bathroom singer.

( Yes, thank you very much ), and now I have the chance to sing any songs I want, with a good set of sound equipment ! Tell me, isn't this just almost perfect ? I felt as if it was my own birthday , rather than his LOL !

Isn't it so obvious that I was so in my own world ?
I'm at the far right =)

The birthday boy himself, Sam Siow. Our dear class monitor.

Yup, his new outfit was his b'day present from all of us.

Yeah, he was actually holding " the other birthday gift " Only for man wear. ==''

I really couldn't recall the last time I watched a movie. Was it Skyfall ? Or was it the CNY movie that I watched with Er Jie and Xiao Mei ??

All I know was that I need to watch a movie. And I wanted to watch Frozen !!!

And voila, I got my wish !! =)
( You see, it's really like my birthday LOL )

Frozen is such a beautiful story. It is loosely based on the story of The Snow Queen written by Hans Anderson. It has a great plot, great characters, great songs, and beautiful animation ! This is no ordinary Disney movie ! Not a single dull moment. It can certainly make your day!!

Well, this is a movie that you shouldn't miss !!

All in all, a great time !! =)

Consistency

If I have to sum up  the experience of my school days in just one word- consistency is the word. WORD.

Consistency in STUDYING,

Consistency in PAYING ATTENTION, ( I know it sounds the same )
Consistency in being YOURSELF.

So now I have to make a new commitment.

Consistency in READING GOD'S WORD ,

Consistency in PRAYER ,
Consistency in BEING A BLESSING,

AND YES,

BLOGGING, READING AND LEARNING FRENCH.

Yup, I have decided to learn French. ONLINE. Well, this is a great proof that I am living in the 21st century right ?

The Internet is really a nice place if you know where you're going.

I need to add one more.

CONSISTENCY IN STAYING WITH THE SAME BLOG !!

 I'M DONE WITH =)

Hugs and prayers,

D.Joycelyn Ong~
